About Us
Go1099.com connects companies with professionals through “1099*” assignments.
Experienced professionals become consultants through mentoring and online connecting supported by Go1099.com so that they can access 1099 assignments and projects from businesses wanting to reduce their costs.
Additionally Go1099.com works with businesses on using projects and special assignments to evaluate consultants for full-time positions. This two-pronged approach allows professionals and employers to learn about each other before committing to a long-term relationship.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Dick Stover, Go1099.com is a Phoenix-area, member-based organization that supplies affordable mentoring and connections online. We work hard to supply the needs of the local community at low cost through online services that everyone can afford. Please check our resources and sign-up here.
* The term 1099 refers to the Internal Revenue Service Form 1099 which is required to be issued to any individual, not an employee, that performs services for a business and whose payment is not covered by a W-2 Form. In effect, Form 1099 covers payment for contracted services while the W-2 Form covers payments for an employee.
Leadership
Go1099.com was founded by Richard (Dick) Stover. Dick saw the need for offering affordable options to Businesses who are looking for good people and to Experienced Professionals who are unemployed and not currently in a position to start their own business.
Dick has volunteered for the past 7 years at SCORE*, Counselors to America’s Small Business. During that time he asked the following questions that led to Go1099.com:
- Why not help these folks to better access shorter-term projects and assignments from Businesses that are not currently in a position to employ them full-time?
- Why not use some of the same mentoring techniques used by SCORE in their small business endeavors, to help individuals acquire short-term projects and further their career?
- Why not help put Experienced Professionals on a “Path to a Brighter Future?”
- Why not give Businesses better access, lower cost and reduced risk when bringing on new Experienced Professionals?
